Additional Details:

Guaranteed Hours: 40

Average census of 42 patients/residents.

Will try to give everyone block scheduling but not guaranteed.

Dress Code: Any color of professional scrubs, prints are encouraged.

Minimum 2 years of experience working as an RN in a Long-Term Care and Skilled Nursing Facility is required. Previous MDS experience is required; at least two years of recent supervisory experience is preferred.

The MDS Coordinator/Director of Staff Development - SNF promotes and restores residents’ health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the resident care area; directing and developing staff; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs; and providing physical and psychological support for residents, friends, and families.

This position also conducts and coordinates the development and completion of resident assessment in accordance with current standards and regulations to include resident interview, assessment, evaluation and care planning. They are responsible for the education of all clinical and nonclinical staff in the Skilled Nursing Facility as well as Case Management duties in the SNF.

Education:

  • • Completion of an accredited Nursing program.
  • • Completion of Director of Staff Development (DSD) training program approved by California Department of Public Health (CDPH)
  • • Completion of Director of Staff Development (DSD) training program approved by California Department of Public Health (CDPH)

Previous experience with MDS Assessments required

Knowledge of SNF consolidated billing, Medicare Skilled criteria, Medicare eligibility requirements

Certification: MDS Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
