Additional Details:

A minimum of 1 year acute care experience is required to work in acute care facilities. The following are considered acute care facilities: Hospital (General Acute Care as well as Psychiatric, Specialized and Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long Term Acute Care or LTAC), and Ambulatory Care Facilities.

• Weekend Hours: yes, Every other weekend

• Float Requirements: rotate taking turns to float to all other departments when ICU census is low

• Patient Population e.g. “geriatric, adult, peds, etc.”: geriatric, adult, pediatrics (rarely)

• Must Have Skills/Experience: Ventilator experience (trach and ETT), Titrating sedation drips (Versed, Propofol, Fentanyl) Titrating Vasopressors. Experience with Cardizem and Amiodarone drips. Experience with DKA Insulin drips. CVP Lines, Art Lines (Rarely). Defibrillation and med management during code blue. Cardioversion.

• Preferred Skillset/Experience: Critical Care experience

• Common Diagnosis/Treatment: Respiratory failure, CHF, Afib RVR, DKA, Overdose, Alcohol Withdrawal, Chronic Vent pts (Trach and peg tubes), Bowel resection post op if need critical care.

• Required Education: AS Nursing degree

• Scrub Color: Any solid color

• Any unacceptable attire: No printed srubs, no printed t-shirt’s (Can wear solid T-shirt or one with hospital logo), no pull-over hooded Sweatshirts.
