Experience
12 months of Psychiatric Unit experience is required.
Experience with Cerner is required.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Maine license or compact license

Additional Details:

Housing in ME becomes more expensive in the summer months, beginning in May. Be sure to confirm you are comfortable with housing options before applying.

Northern Light facility start dates are typically 3-4 weeks from the offer.

RTO and shift requests will not be accepted after submittal. Northern Light facilities will not accept any RTO for 4th of July weekend.

Guaranteed Hours: 36

Pediatric BH exp required

Patient Types:

  • Free standing acute inpatient facility – contracted ER 5 min away
  • All patients come from an ED and are medically cleared - not typical to have lines, drains, tubes, etc.
  • Children and Adolescents receiving inpatient Mental Health services – ages 5 - 18
  • Common diagnoses include, but are not limited to: Eating Disorders, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Gender Dysphoria
  • Traditional medical and psychiatric care in addition to specialized therapies such as: pet therapy, group sessions, recreation therapy (rock wall), community gardens

Skills required: De-escalation experience, experience with physical restraints

Floating: between two pediatric units

Orientation: (facility and unit): 2 weeks Mon-Fri - Days; 2 (12’s) on shift contracted to

Scheduling:

  • Weekend rotation: every other; Sat/Sun
  • Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
  • Will they be on call? No call
  • Holiday Expectations: expected to work holidays in rotation
  • Approval of time off? up to 7 days; if a full week must extend

Scrub Color: any solid color; must be professional
