Requirements
Experience
24 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience is required.
Experience with Meditech is preferred.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 24 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license
Certifications
BLS (Required)
Vaccinations

Additional Details:

36 or 48 guaranteed hours.

Must be willing to take a max of 8 patient when needed. This is not the norm, but does happen when staff call in.

Boone Health now requires that all nurse candidates provide current CEU documentation during the compliance process.

Nurse Patient Ratio: 1:6; may go up to 1:8. Nurses must be willing to take 8 when needed.

Must be willing to float

Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatric, Outpatient

Top 10 Diagnosis/Procedures: Total knee replacement, Total hip replacement, Total ankle replacement, Total shoulder replacement, fracture repair, spine surgeries including XLIF, ALIF, TDLF, ACDF, PCDF, microdisc, lamis.

Common Medications used on the unit: Pain medication, Antibiotics, Anticoagulants, Home medications, Antiemetics, steroids.

Common Equipment: Ice wraps, Polar coolers.

May float to other Med/Surg areas - varies on surgical schedule.

Line Management/Skills:

Required: IV Insertion,

Preferred: PICC/Central Line Management.

Ortho/MS/Onc Skills:

Preferred: Traction, CPM, Epidural/PCA pumps, Feeding Tubes, Wound Vac Cardiac:

Preferred: Remote Tele, Tele Interpretation Airway Skills:

Preferred: CPAP/BiPAP
