Guaranteed Hours 36
Schedule is a 6 week period. Try to accommodate requests but travelers will fill in gaps
Weekend Requirements 3 weekend days in a 6 week period
Holiday Requirements will work if there is a need
Floating Requirements Between the IMCU and ICU as well as Tele and Neuro taking a full assignment - first to float
Beds 36 beds- 24 beds dedicated to ICU, 12 beds dedicated to IMCU-high acuity pts, someone with PCU experience may struggle
Nurse Patient Ratios "ICU: 1:1-2, occasionally 1:3-would not be 3 ICU pts, would have 2 ICU pts and 1 with tx orders IMCU: 1:3"
Common diagnoses/Types of patients "Mult diverse unit- take everything but Peds and Burns, Open hearts straight from OR (travelers would not take), trauma- falls, MVAs, pedestrian vs car; surgical-big belly surgeries, carotids, thoracotomies, CV surgeries, cranis, burr holes, anyone that is high risk after surgery, has been under anesthesia for a long period of time, or if they are having difficulty being extubated; cardiac caths- sheath removal, anyone that has TNK- will be on floor for 24 hours; respiratory-COVID, vents, COPD; and medical patients needing ICU/IMCU including DKA; No ECMO or CRRT"
Experience or 'Must have' skills:
Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips "IMCU: nitro, amio, Cardizem, insulin, dopamine, dobutamine at certain rates
RN must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) before signing the contract. They will be given three attempts to pass.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy - undershirts must be navy. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.
