Experience

24 months of Progressive Care Unit experience is required.

3 months of experience with Meditech is preferred.

References

Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license

36 guaranteed hours

Will Accept a First-time traveler? Yes

Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staff

Patient Types: CVA/TIA in need of TPA administration; Spinal surgical – ACDF, Laminectomy Stepdown unit overflow -- AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, ARF, s/p Heart Caths, etc.

Skills required: -Titratable gtts: Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, Levophed – request manager approval to offer without this experience

-Chest tube management, traches, Peritoneal Dialysis, ISTAT, CSF (lumbar) drains (preferred)

-Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival (includes MedSurg RN)

Charting System/Equipment: -EMR: Meditech Expanse -IV Pumps: Alaris -Medication dispensing: Pyxis

Floating: Units: Stepdown and MedSurg with ratios of 1:5-6

Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other

Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week – this is mandatory

Night shift will be required to work a 5/2 schedule as illustrated below: -One group works every Mon/Tues on the schedule creating a (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday week followed by working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday the next) They work 5 on, 5 off, 2 on, 2 off -The other group work the opposite working EVERY Wed/Thurs (Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday then followed by Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat) They work 5 off, 5 on, 2 off, 2 on
