EOW, First to Float.
Stepdown nurses needed, not med/tele.
Unit: TCU- True Stepdown Unit - Telemetry, cardiac intervention unit and tele overflow.
If going to do Charge Nurse must be Progressive Care Certified Nurse.
Ratios: 1:3 or 1:4 based on acuity.
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Fri/Sat nights, Sat/Sun for days).
Holidays: Every other holiday rotating.
Scrub Color: Navy.
Floating: No full vent, do have CPAP, BIPAP and Hi-flow O2.
Common diagnosis/Types of patients: Post cath patients both clean and interventions; post TEE, Post cardioversion, ablations, AICD, sometimes external temp pacer patients, sometimes transcutaneous pacing, chest tubes, tube feedings, lots of drains, must be very fluent in gtts--will titrate down; gtts seen include amiodarone, cardizem, nitro, pressors, dopamine, insulin, heparin, etc.
