Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required from any number of months.
12 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Iowa license or compact license

Guaranteed Hours: 36

RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. open book exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated.

Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.

Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Total knees, total hips, should replacements, COPD, diabetes, wounds, IV infusions, dementia, oncology, fractures-hips, ankles; sepsis, pneumonia, cholelithiasis, ambulatory dysfunction, appendicitis, acute respiratory distress, CHF, dementia, ETOH/drug abuse.

RNs are not required to titrate drips.

Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend- Friday and Saturday are considered the weekend for nights

Floating Requirements: Will float to PCU and McDermott (behavioral health)

Shifts & Scheduling: Self-scheduling

Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue

Number of shifts of unit/department specific orientation: First week is classroom orientation, then 1-12 hour shift on the unit.

Primary patient population is Caucasian, low to middle class. We do have patients who are homeless and have mental health and/or addiction history.

RTO needed upfront - Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
