Experience
24 months of role experience is required.
Travel experience is required.
36 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required.
Experience with Cerner is required.
References
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 36 months in order to be considered for this role

Ratios: Per ACOG Guidelines (2:1)

Weekends: Usually every other weekend (same as perm staff)

Scrub Color: Provided by hospital

Types of patients: High risk patients, some multiple births (up to triplets usually), run insulin gtts, run mag drips; for C-section will circulate and recover; no other surgeries on unit unless tubal or emergent hyster needed; no elective abortions; will recover babies (skin to skin) after delivery; have techs that help as well; make sure the nurses are true L&D as their Post-partum nurses are separate--need C-section experience; must be strong L&D! Have a lot of protocols in place to help with cares--try to give a couple days on the unit as orientation; please note the charting is NOT by exception only--they must chart everything!! Have level 3 almost level 4 NICU that attends high risk deliveries.
