Floating: ED agency may be used in inpatient areas as a “help all” to cover needs.

This is very rare and typically not the travelers who are floated. This is new since covid and not something that happens frequently. A nurse in the ED would not be expected to take a team on another unit.

An ED nurse would not be required to take a team on an inpatient unit. If floated they would be a help all.

Patient Ratio: variable based on acuity or needs of department

Dress Code: No specific colored scrubs. Tasteful scrubs with only solid colored shirts under a scrub shirt.
